Tea in the time of social media
Share
No picture of a bowl of tea today. Instead, just some musings on technology and life.
Do you ever have those moments where a random, rare tech issue crops up when you’re trying to do something, and it kind of feels like a sign to stop?
You’ve just clicked on another movie to watch when you know you should actually go to bed, and suddenly the internet drops out.
I had one of those moments the other morning when I went to film myself drinking some bowl tea. The camera came up with some sort of error and just wouldn’t work, which was pretty weird because I rarely see that error.
I know looking for “signs” in the world can lead you down a rabbit hole into some pretty woo-woo places, but sign or no sign, it did make me stop and think: maybe I should just enjoy this tea for me rather than for social media.
I’m not naturally a very online person. My personal Instagram has maybe ten posts in the last five years. But starting an online business requires you to be online.
I’m also interested in finding healthy ways to do this that don’t affect my quality of life, and I’m also interested in discussing that journey with you guys.
At the same time, I’m actually really enjoying being more plugged in at the moment and have already made some new friends (shout out to Chase from Planet Heycha) that I would have never made without something like Instagram.
I always want to make sure I’m sharing a product that promotes healthy living, and if part of that product is online, I also want to open up a discussion about how we can exist online in healthy ways too.
